Abbreviations Related to the Directions for the Pharmacist - The Subscription Verbs

Dispense. Provide to the patient.                                             
div. #
Divide. The formula refers to the total amount to be made.  Divide the formula into the specified number of dosage units.                             
d.t.d. #
Give such doses.  The formula refers to a single dose.  Prepare and dispense a specified number of doses.
