Its obvious that PPP is the largest party of senate now. But to attain its simple majority it requires another 11 members.
ANP (12) is appeared to be the natural ally with PPP in recent years, therefore, PPP and allies attains a simple majority.
To attain a 2/3 majority (70 members are required to amend the constitution) PPP (41) has to join hands with ANP (12), MQM (7), PML - Q (5) (who are already collation partner in the current government) and with 5 other members.
Whatever will be the result of Next General election (to be held in 2012), No amendment in constitution or passing of new bills in parliment will be possible without the consent of PPP.
